Laboratory Vacuum Press

Model: HS 1-013

The press is designed for compression moulding of various materials in vacuum and under high pressure and temperature. This process is especially tailored for the production of sheet form materials with high molecular weight.

The innovation is that sheets can be pressed under vacuum, which makes it possible to achieve low air pressure in the pressing tool.

The advantages of vacuum compression moulding are:

  • A more homogenous and compact structure, which results in better mechanical properties and longer lifetime of material when continually under stress.
  • Shorter closing time of the press. With the vacuum, the air is preliminary sucked out, thus intensive air flow through the gap between the stamp and the mould is prevented. The air flow ruins the levelled surface of the filled in material in the mould.
  • Due to decreased air presence, faster reaching of temperature and shorter production cycles are possible.
  • Some materials contain additives, which oxidate when high temperature and oxygen are present.  Vacuum considerably lowers the oxidation grade of material and consequently its degradation.
  • Production of thin plates (minimum thickness of 3 mm).
  • Improvement of various production cycles with compression moulding, where problems due to air presence in the pressing tool or material occur.
